Harry E. Stewart
PI, Associate Professor
Professor Stewart has been a member of the full-time faculty in the Geotechnical Engineering Group at Cornell since 1985. Previously, he served on the faculty of the University of South Carolina and as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts. His teaching has covered many areas of geotechnical engineering and has directed several large research projects.
Thomas D. O'Rourke
Co PI, Thomas R. Briggs Professor of Engineering
Professor O'Rourke has been a member of the teaching and research staffs at Cornell University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His teaching and professional practice has covered many aspects of geotechnical engineering including large-scale testing. He has authored or co-authored over 280 publications on geotechnical, underground, and earthquake engineering.
Site Operations Manager
Joe manages Cornell's NEES Equipment Site and is the primary contact for internal and external communications with potential users and other NEES sites. Responsibilities also include setup and maintenance of hydraulic control system and instrumentation. He also provides ongoing support for earthquake researchers who use the equipment site and is the coordinator for NEES outreach activities.
Timothy K. Bond
Manager of Technical Services, Harry E. Bovay Laboratory Complex Cornell University
Tim manages the day to day operations of the Harry E. Bovay Jr. Civil Infrastructure Laboratory Complex, providing technical and managerial support for lab users and projects. The CI Lab Complex includes facilities for Cornell's NEES Lifelines System Research Facility, soil/structure interaction testing, geotechnical, structural and earthquake engineering research and concrete materials research.
